Refund Policy

If You Can No Longer Attend

If you have bought a ticket and can no longer attend:

  • If we are running a waiting list for that ticket and it's more than 2 weeks before the event, you have the option of using the waiting list.​ Contact us by email at rob@sugarfootswing.com and we will offer the ticket to people on the waiting list. If we sell it to one of them, we will refund you directly.

  • If it is more than 24 hours before the event, whether or not we are also running a waiting list, you have the option of selling your ticket yourself (so that the buyer transfers you the money directly) and letting us know so that we can transfer the ticket to the buyer. This is subject to these conditions:

    • You do not charge the buyer more than the price you paid for the ticket (but you can charge less).

    • The buyer is attending in the same role (i.e. lead to a lead, follow to a follow).

    • Where there is a workshop of a minimum level, the buyer must meet that level.

    • The name and contact details for the buyer are provided to us at least 24 hours before the event.

  • In all cases SFS may refuse to transfer the ticket at our discretion. SFS may refuse if we believe our transfer option is being used as a means to reserve or hold tickets, rather than being unable to attend an event unexpectedly.

​​​​With the exception of the waiting lists, SFS do not offer refunds if you cannot attend though no fault on our part. We suggest you buy your own insurance (or check whether any existing home or purchase insurance you have covers this) to guard against this eventuality.

If We Have To Cancel

When SFS cancel an event because of the non-availability of a major part of the event (such as the venue being unavailable, or a teaching couple being unavailable where they are the main focus of the event), we will consider making a full or partial refund after accounting for any expenses we may be liable for or are unable to recover e.g. (other) teachers, travel costs, venues, bands, or equipment hire.

​​​SFS will not offer refunds where the event goes ahead but a minor part of the event changes (such as a venue change within Bristol, a band line up change or a teacher change at an event with multiple teachers).

​​​SFS shall not be liable for any additional expenses or inconveniences you may have incurred due to event changes or cancellation.
